Am I getting rooked by my vet?
Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 question of rheighton : I get from my vet rooked
My beloved cat of 8 years, fell ill recently (within the last 2 days he would not eat / drink / move much and was vomiting green bile), so I took him to the vet for an exam, and because it drained, they wanted him kept overnight and run some tests, the fine by me was because I am concerned only about my cat health and the vet threw Wohlbefinden.Doch sure me for a loop with a very expensive estimate (in my opinion): Hospital stay overnight Fee: $ 79IV setup and the first liter of fluid: $ 100Mittlere radiological plate (Film fee x2): $ 74Veterinär process fee: $ 46.50 X-ray image processing fee: $ 51.50 Biochem profile, electrolyte CBC: $ 147Blutentnahme: $ 15Mehrere injections Hospital: $ 32für a total of $ 575.25 after GSTUnd the worst thing is that this is only an estimate. I have since spoken to the vet and we have canceled the radiology, because they diagnosed my cat with diabetes and another unknown disease, complicate things have. The vet warned me that my account may be up in the 1000s, when it is said and done, depending on how my cat reacted to the insulin / rehydration Behandlung.Ich just wonder, are these types of charges normal, or am I taken by the vet? (To give $ 100, an IV seems ridiculously steep) Also, does anyone advice on how to pay for it? The vet is not any financing work with me because I normally do not go to this clinic and I am a student, so once my student loan money runs out, I’m in trouble Best Answer:

I am so sad about your situation. Vet fees not suck. I paid $ 310 to the vet, my cat died on the table to go in an emergency. It was a $ 54 emergency / after hours fee, $ 45 set up fee office, $ 100, and IV fluid … $ 20 for a drug, $ 1.30 for another, $ 45 cremation fee …. ugh …. Sounds normal to me. I hope everything goes well for you.
